Microsoft is working on a pretty cool feature in Excel. The feature will allow you to insert data from a picture into Excel. According to Microsoft, this feature will work on Excel for iPhone, Excel of Androids, and Excel for Android Tablets.

Here’s how you’ll be able to turn your picture data into an Excel table.

  1. You will open Excel and click on the Insert data from picture button on the Excel ribbon.
  2. Let’s say you want to copy the data from a printed paper. Take a picture of the spreadsheet, or portion of data, that you want to insert into Excel.

  3. Excel’s AI engine will process the image and convert it to an Excel table.
  4. If there are any issues with the picture you will be able to correct it by clicking Edit, otherwise you will click Ignore to proceed.
  5. Press Insert and your data will show up in Excel. Pretty cool, eh?
