Telnet Client is not installed by default on Windows\u00a07, Windows Server\u00a02008\u00a0R2, Windows\u00a0Vista, or Windows Server\u00a02008. The procedures to install Telnet Client vary based on the operating system you are using. Microsoft has documented the following instructions on TechNet in this<\/a> article.<\/p>\n

To install Telnet Client by using a command line.<\/p>\n

  1. Open a command prompt window. Click Start<\/strong>, type cmd<\/strong> in the Start Search<\/strong> box, and then press ENTER<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Type the following command: pkgmgr \/iu:”TelnetClient”.<\/li>\n
  3. If the User Account Control<\/strong> dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. When the command prompt appears again, the installation is complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
