Which means that you can&#8217;t delete the icon that you dragged on your desktop otherwise the Show Desktop icon won&#8217;t work because it&#8217;s only a shortcut. Here&#8217;s what you can do to quickly restore the Show Desktop icon.<\/p>\n<p>1. Copy the following code in Notepad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">[Shell]<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Command=2<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">IconFile=explorer.exe,3<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">[Taskbar]<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Command=ToggleDesktop<\/p>\n<p>2. Save the file as <strong>Show Desktop.scf<\/strong> in the folder <span id=\"intellitxt\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">C:\\Documents and Settings\\<em>Username<\/em>\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Internet Explorer\\Quick Launch<\/span><\/strong>, where <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Username<\/strong> <\/span>is the account name that you are logged in as.
