{"id":1434,"date":"2009-08-07T17:17:44","date_gmt":"2009-08-08T01:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zubairalexander.com\/stage\/?p=1434"},"modified":"2009-08-07T17:22:08","modified_gmt":"2009-08-08T01:22:08","slug":"windows-xp-sp3-runs-browsers-13-faster-than-windows-7-rtm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zubairalexander.com\/blog\/windows-xp-sp3-runs-browsers-13-faster-than-windows-7-rtm\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows XP SP3 runs browsers 13% faster than Windows 7 RTM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Assuming you are interested in installing, or have already installed, Windows XP SP3, here&#8217;s some interesting browser comparison reported by BetaNews today.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;In a set of comprehensive Windows Web browser performance tests conducted by Betanews on August 7 &#8212; our first test of browsers running on the final Windows 7 RTM Build 7600 distributed by Microsoft yesterday &#8212; the five major families of browsers tended to run 13% faster on Windows XP Service Pack 3 than on Windows 7, and 29% faster than on Windows Vista Service Pack 2.<\/p>\n<p>That reflects a <em>decline<\/em> in the speed gap between XP and Win7 of about 1%, from tests conducted comparing XP-based browsers to those running on Windows 7 Release Candidate Build 7100. By the way, I am not pleased with IE 8 at all and I am lukewarm about IE 7.
