If you are having connectivity issues between Windows Vista computers and you are using a non-Windows firewall between them, then you need to open the proper ports to allow incoming network discovery traffic and file and print sharing traffic. What you need to do is allow traffic from the following TCP and UDP ports so that the network discovery will work.<\/p>\n

– UDP 3702
\n– TCP 5357
\n– TCP 5358<\/p>\n

If you are connecting Windows Vista computers to Windows XP computers then for file and print sharing and for network discovery, you need to allow traffic on the following incoming ports:<\/p>\n

– UDP 137
\n– UDP 138
\n– UDP 139
\n– TCP 445<\/p>\n

And finally, for network discovery of network devices, make sure you allow traffic from the following ports.<\/p>\n

– UDP 1900<\/p>\n
